Volunteer

The Bay Area Flamenco Festival offers many volunteer opportunities during the Festival and in the weeks leading up to the events. We are truly grateful to all those community members who have volunteered with us in the past and present.  We welcome back past volunteers and if you’ve not volunteered in the past, we invite you to join the team! Volunteering with the Bay Area Flamenco Flamenco is a great way of becoming part of a vibrant community of world music and dance enthusiasts and see great shows!

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Street Team (Late August to late September – in the weeks leading up to the Festival)

  • Passing out flyers at events
  • Putting up flyers and posters around the Bay Area

Event Team (during the Festival)

  • Front of House Assistance: Greeters; Ushers; Ticket Stubs
  • Merchandise Sales
  • Backstage Hospitality & Green Room
  • Helping out at Receptions
  • Security: Backstage & Curtain Guards
  • Set-up, Breakdown & Load Out
  • Driving and Errands (we provide vehicle)

How many hours are you asked to volunteer?
Volunteers are usually asked to work 1.5 hours before the performance, up to 1 hour after the event, and 20 minutes during the intermissions.

What are some of the benefits of volunteering?
In exchange for supporting our performing arts events, volunteers have the opportunity to meet other flamenco and world music & dance enthusiasts.

Volunteers also get to attend the performance they work for free (seating subject to availability).

What are some expectations of volunteers?
Volunteers are expected to represent Bay Area Flamenco by providing an excellent patron experience.

Is there a Dress Code?
Yes, Volunteers are to dress for a performing arts event: this means wearing black pants or black skirt, black or white shirt, and dress shoes (no jeans, sweats, or sneakers).
